CODISSIA, an ISO 9001-2008 organization, established in 1969 as a Small Industries Association, is one of the largest association for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in South India. It has a membership of more than 1700MSMEs from different sectors. We are a nonprofit organization, working for the Industrial development and economic growth and prosperity of this region.
The Association has made a significant contribution towards building a strong and a stable industrial belt in this region and creating awareness among MSME entrepreneurs. Besides assisting in grievance redressal through effective representations, CODISSIA focuses on the development-oriented activities such as conducting series of seminars, Training Programmes, Study tours, Delegation visits to Foreign Countries, Exhibitions, Industrial Trade Fairs, Industrial visits, Buyer Seller Meets, Guidance on Exports Imports etc. so as to develop and create awareness among industrial entrepreneurs.
CODISSIA is member in Advisory and Consultative Committees in Government Departments at the District, State and National level. CODISSIA is a member in Prime Minister’s Innovation Council and the National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Industries (NI-MSME), Hyderabad,an organization of the Ministry of MSME,National Board of MSME, Central Board for Workers Education, Advisory Committee in Department of Labour, Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee and Regional Advisory Committee for GST, Govt. of India. It is also a member in the Regional Board for ESIC (TN), Single Window Committee, Task Force – UYEGP and NEEDS of Government of Tamilnadu.

Trade Fairs of CODISSIA not only show case the latest technologies in the respective fields but also act as a catalyst for Industrial growth. The objective of these exhibitions is to give maximum exposure to the entrepreneurs as well as the general public and open new avenues for business generation.
CODISSIA revels in its state-of-the- art world class Trade Fair Complex with 20,000 sq. mt. covered area, Asia’s largest pillar free hall, on 40 acressprawling landscaped land.It is one of the most modern Trade Fair Complex, which has put Coimbatore on the world Industrial& Trade Fair map.
CODISSIA has always been actively involved in conducting industrial visits, delegations to International Fairs. We also conduct series of seminars and training Programmes so as to develop and create awareness among industrial entrepreneurs.
One of the main functions of CODISSIA is to offer free guidance to the new entrepreneurs and unemployed youth and motivate them to start their own business availing the benefits extended by Government. In this connection, The Entrepreneurial Guidance Cell meets every Friday in CODISSIA City Office, and gives free guidance to entrepreneurs in various aspects of setting up an Industry, Service Organization and Marketing Centre. They are assisted in the identification and selection of products preparation of project reports, purchase of machinery & equipment, raw materials, bank finance, marketing of end products, subsidy available from government departments etc.
CODISSIA is an authorized organisation to conduct training programmes for the budding and existing entrepreneurs. CODISSIA is signed a MoU for the business facilitation service programme with entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute to conduct various programmes like UYEGP, PMEGP, NEEDS, TAHDCO and MUDRA .
CODISSIA has signed MOUs with a number of Technological Institutes for mutual benefit and growth and for benefit of students through Industry – academic Institution interaction activities. The CODISSIA bulletin is a registered fortnightly newsletter being published on the 1st and 15th of every calendar month since 1973. It contains current news about SSI and recent technological developments. The journal is circulated to all members of CODISSIA and other associations in Tamil Nadu, Officers of the State and the Central Governments connected with small scale sector, VIPs, Banks etc. The team ensures that each issue comes out on time and contains essential and current information as well as articles of general interest
CODISSIA has developed two state-of-the-art Industrial Parks at Kallapalayam and Mopperipalayam villages, about 25 km from Coimbatore city. These Industrial Parks are coming up in a total area of close to 400 acres. About 320 MSMEs are setting shops in these two Industrial Parks with an investment in excess of Rs. 3000 crores. These industries will provide direct employment to about 10,000 people and indirectly generate employment opportunities to another 20,000 people. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of TamilnaduThiru. Edappadi K Palaniswamiinauguratedthese Industrial Parks this year, 2019.
CODISSIA is planning to execute a new initiativeSkill Development Centre in both the sites, in line with the Skill India Mission. It is an endeavor to impart technical skill and knowledge to unskilled labourer and improve their employability.
We are proud to mention that CODISSIA has been awarded with the nation’s first Defence Innovation Centre and also the Atal Incubation Centre by Niti Aayog (for an Industries Association) under the Innovation for Defence Excellence (iDEX). CODISSIA Defence Innovation and Atal Incubation Centre will be a key contributor to the Southern Defence Corridor enabling the MSMEs of this region to become import substitution partners to the armed forces in the near future. We are sure that this CODISSIA Defence Innovation and Atal Incubation Centre will be instrumental in supporting the Start-ups with innovative ideas, to convert their dream into reality, thus developing more entrepreneurs, in-turn creating more job opportunities in future. This project will be in line with the Start-Up India Mission. Through this, we shall realize the dream of Make in India and equip our country’s armed forces with Indian Solutions.
We are glad to mention that CODISSIA has been recommended by the National Cluster Evaluation Committee for Industry Apprenticeship Initiative Implementation under STRIVE Project.
CODISSIA is currently in its 50th year since establishment. We are pleased to mention that the Hon’ble Governor of Tamilnadu Shri. Banwarilal Purohit had launched the Golden Jubilee celebrations of our Association on 29th October 2018 at our CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex.
To commemorate this occasion, a series of programmes were conducted throughout the year. We are happy to inform you that CODISSIA, as part of its Golden Jubilee Celebration and as a CSR activity, conducted a National Science and Technology Fair from 29th to 31st August 2019at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex. Around 160 Institutions from both schools and colleges from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan had participated in this event. Students from these institutions displayed about 1200 exhibits with innovative ideas. The objective of this event was to showcase the innovations of students starting from High Schools to higher education levels and get them vital links with industrialists who visited this event. The projects which had the potential for marketability were picked up by industrialists through Joint Venture agreement, thus catapulting the students to become entrepreneurs. Cash Prizes were given away to the best three innovations in both Schools and colleges category respectively.
All the achievements of CODISSIA can be simply spell in a single word that is TEAM WORK.
